During my time at Illumination, I had the opportunity to spearhead a project for recruitment materials that would be brought to different colleges and conventions. We brainstormed ideas for stickers, notebooks, posters, tablecloths and much more. It was an amazing experience to find a way to market the Illumination brand to an older audience, but still keep the same playfulness that the company represents. Below you'll see some of the ideas we worked on and pitched.
Toonstar Concept Art Internship
Working at Toonstar I had the opportunity to explore a fast paced animation pipeline. I primarily was a concept artist and created animation assets in Adobe Illustrator. I was given a list of 3-7 prompts everyday to create characters, props and backgrounds. It was great practice to work in the flat and simplified design style, and to work closely with the animators. In addition to creating assets I was challenged by doing voiceover work, sound editing, writing and simple animation, this was a great experience to understand how our animated shorts are made and continuously be challenged in exciting ways.
